Nordic firms to bring HealthTech to Yorkshire and Humber region

Nordic HealthTech companies are bringing their innovations to the Yorkshire and Humber region as part of an initiative to improve patient outcomes and support NHS priorities.

The Propel Boot Camp, delivered by Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, is designed to attract the world’s most promising health innovations to the UK.

It allows Yorkshire and Humber to become the first region to explore the technologies’ adoption and impact, while securing investment and creating jobs for the region.

The technologies include a digital app supporting maternal mental health during pregnancy; an interactive touch-screen tablet that promotes healthy ageing and social inclusion for older people; and wound care products that improve patient comfort while reducing skin complications.

Neville Young, director of enterprise and innovation at Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, said: “The programme gives innovators a clear route into the UK healthcare system, with the opportunity to establish a base in Yorkshire and the Humber.

“SMEs take part in a five-day intensive programme covering five key areas: the NHS, legal, finance and funding, networking, and growth and spread.

“Participants gain access to subject matter experts and work directly with local NHS stakeholders and the wider HealthTech ecosystem across the region.”

The small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that have been selected for the programme are:

• YetiCare – an interactive touch tablet that helps older adults with cognitive or physical challenges stay engaged and supported.
• ExAc – a high-fidelity simulator enabling clinicians to practice life-saving control of severe childbirth and pelvic bleeding.
• Nil Medical (Vestpack) – a wearable pouch that keeps essential medical equipment secure while supporting patient mobility and independence.
• Global Health Technology – advanced wound and stoma dressings that improve comfort, protect skin and prevent leaks.
• EchoVice – a stabilising device that improves image quality and efficiency during oesophageal heart ultrasound scans.
• Abomics – software that translates genetic test results into clear guidance on the safest, most effective medicines and doses.
• Som Sagt – an AI simulator that trains emergency call-takers to manage high-pressure 999/111 calls more effectively.
• Upptimely – a hospital platform for tracking medical devices, managing suppliers and improving equipment availability.
• Omaia – an AI-powered app supporting maternal mental health by reducing anxiety and stress during pregnancy.
• Dossier – a digital platform for managing healthcare staff skills, training and compliance in one place.
• MoniDose – smart medication dispensing that helps patients take the right medicine at the correct time.

Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber also runs its annual Propel@YH digital health accelerator programme, which supports UK based innovators developing digital health solutions with access to a six-month course of structured support and advice aimed at enabling accelerated company growth and increased market presence.
