Medtronic has concluded the UK leg of its European ACM2U Truck Roadshow, bringing ‘cutting-edge’ medical technologies directly to clinicians in Aberdeen, Liverpool and Cardiff and showcasing the future of clinical innovation. The mobile innovation hub offered immersive, hands-on training to hundreds of clinicians, helping address the growing pressures on the NHS through smarter, more efficient patient care.
In today’s overstretched healthcare system challenged by staff shortages and rising demand, the ACM2U Truck provided a vital platform for clinicians to engage with transformative, innovative solutions. The roadshow featured expert-led education, live demonstrations, and access to Medtronic’s latest innovations – including the first-of-its-kind Corsano multi-parameter wearable, a breakthrough device that continuously monitor a patient’s key vital signs.
The wearable technology allows doctors and nurses to monitor patients recovering in the comfort of their homes, whilst reducing clinical strain. The truck also featured NICU solutions tailored to protect vulnerable patients and streamline workflows.
Highlights from the UK Tour
At each stop, clinicians had the opportunity to explore state-of-the-art medical technology.
- Aberdeen: The Association of Anaesthetists Annual Congress 2025 marked a significant milestone with the truck making its first UK stop in Aberdeen. The truck hosted hands-on workshops both inside the exhibition hall and as part of the educational programme, reaching over 600 anaesthetists from across the UK and Ireland. Clinicians explored personalised anaesthesia techniques and practiced with advanced equipment under expert guidance.
- Liverpool: At Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, the roadshow was praised for its frontline impact.
“The arrival of Medtronic’s ACM2U Truck at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is a powerful example of how innovation can be brought directly to the frontlines of care and is a valuable opportunity to strengthen our commitment to patient safety,” said Mr Manoj Kuduvalli, Medical Director. “It’s not just about showcasing new tools; it’s about empowering our teams to confidently integrate these solutions into everyday practice, improving outcomes and easing pressure on hospital resources. At a time when the NHS is under immense strain, initiatives like this help us stay ahead by combining education, efficiency, and innovation.”
- Cardiff: The ACM2U Truck Roadshow concluded its UK tour at University Hospital Llandough, part of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, offering three days of immersive clinical education and technology demonstrations. Open to all staff across the Health Board, the event spotlighted innovations in personalised anaesthesia, airway management, and continuous connected care, including the Corsano multi-parameter wearable. Clinicians engaged in hands-on training and expert-led sessions focused on advancing patient monitoring, safety, and sustainability in healthcare.
By bringing these technologies directly to hospital sites, the ACM2U Truck helped build confidence among clinical teams to seamlessly adopt new innovative solutions into everyday practice. The roadshow also facilitated direct access to Medtronic experts, enabling knowledge-sharing and collaboration to drive digital transformation across the NHS.
“We’re proud to have connected with so many clinicians across the UK, sharing innovations that can truly make a difference in patient care, and we’re excited to take the roadshow across Europe in the coming weeks.” said Pedro Vieira dos Santos, Commercial Enablement & Customer Success Director, Medtronic.
