Heidi Health raises £48m in Series B funding to expand globally

AI-scribing firm Heidi Health has announced the closing of a $65 million (£48m) Series B funding round to help the firm expand globally.

Heidi, founded in Australia, is used by more than 60% of NHS GPs to undertake tasks, such as drafting referral letters and letters to patients based on consultations.

The latest Series B funding round was led by Point72 Private Investments, with participation from continuing investors Blackbird, Headline, and Local Globe.

It will accelerate Heidi’s mission to build an AI Care Partner that sits alongside clinicians, expanding their capacity by automating tasks such as clinical documentation, evidence search, and follow-up communications.

Dr Thomas Kelly, chief executive and co-founder of Heidi, said: “It is untenable that healthcare demand continues to rise while clinical time continues to shrink.

“Building a sustainable healthcare system requires expanding clinical capacity without compromising clinician wellbeing or patient safety.

“That’s why I founded Heidi: to build an AI Care Partner that stands alongside clinicians, empowering them to deliver the care to which they have dedicated their lives.”

Pilot programmes involving Heidi’s AI scribe tool are in place in NHS Trusts, including North West London Acute Provider Collaborative and One LSC, a collection of five NHS trusts in Lancashire and South Cumbria serving nearly 1.8 million people.

The funding takes Heidi’s latest value to $465m (£346m) and brings its total funding raised to nearly $100m (£74m).

Heidi will now invest further into the USA, UK and Canadian markets, including doubling their UK headcount to meet demand from the NHS, and build on clinician-led adoption in France, Spain, Germany, Ireland, South Africa, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Ferdi Sigona, partner at investors LocalGlobe, said: “What we’re witnessing with Heidi in the UK’s NHS isn’t just fast growth, it’s a clinician-led movement.

“When doctors themselves are championing a tool so passionately – from individual practices to major NHS Trusts serving millions of patients – you know we’re backing a company with universal appeal across healthcare.

“We’re thrilled to be doubling down on Heidi alongside new and existing investors and are convinced the team’s success so far is only the beginning.”

Heidi was rolled out at the Health Plus practice in Jersey in June 2025, marking the first time an AI scribe tool has gone live in a GP practice in Jersey.

The firm was also one of nine companies selected to participate in the Grow Digital Health Midlands 2025 accelerator programme.
