Stage Stirling 'sizzler'

The second round of the tournamnet was held on Saturday 8 May and what a day it turned out to be.
The weather was absolutely brilliant and the attendance was excellent with 20 players taking part.
Group A was very keenly contested with Jean Murray and Ali Forbes finishing 3rd with a score of 13 points and missing out on a semi-final place by only 1 point. The two couples going through were Sheena Forbes & Alan Lobban (14 pts) and Val Evans & Kamil Rossol (15 pts).
The other Group was as close with two pairs - Carol Lobban & John Hill and  Gus McGowan & Piotr Rossol level 3rd with 12 pts but the winners were Sarah Francis & John Day with (16 pts) and runners up, Sylvia Hulme & Douglas Menzies (14 pts).
The semi -finals resulted in wins for Sarah & John and Val & Kamil with the latter winning the final by 5 games to 2.
All in all it was a very successful day and hope that the next round on Saturday 12 June will be also.
