Inverness Tennis and Squash club prides itself on an active tennis membership. Whether you are social tennis player who is looking to make some new friends, or someone with a more competitive streak looking to play in tournaments locally (or further afield), why not come along and try us out - don't forget your racquet, although if you don't have one, we have a well stocked shop! We offer coaching for players of all ages, teams playing other clubs in the Highlands league, tournaments and regular club sessions on Tuesday mornings and evenings, Friday mornings and Saturday afternoons.  Check out the tennis notice board, booking sheets and blackboard to find out what is going on, or speak to the club managers.

Ewan wins at Waverly

Waverley HIGHLAND SPRING Junior Open 2010

 

Ewan Mckinnie continued his recent good form by winning the 12U Waverley Junior Open Grand Prix.

 

Ewan made his way through a large draw by winning against Scott Docherty  (West of Scotland) 6-1 6-1; Callum Harvey (East of Scotland) 6-0 6-0; Ruairidh Fraser (North of Scotland) 6-3 6-2; Dominic Thompson (Northumberland) 7-6 (4) 6-2.

 

The final was contested against George Baird from the West of Scotland in which Ewan came out on top winning 6-3 6-2.

 

In the same tournament in the girls 12U, Amber Paterson was narrowly defeated in the QF by Ciara Torrence (South of Scotland) 6-7(6) 6-1 10-8.  

 

There were strong performances by both Duncan Hambery and Rory Grant in the boys 16U. Duncan lost to the number 3 seed Gregor Mclean in R32, 6-2 7-6 (2); Rory lost to the same player in R16, 6-4 6-3.
